Experimental Film: Andy Warhol – F23

This course introduces film and media students to vital issues in contemporary art and art history through the lens of Andy Warhol’s work as an artist, experimental filmmaker, and television producer who helped create a public space for queerness. We will also screen and discuss work by some of Warhol’s contemporaries, including experimental artist/filmmakers Jack Smith, Kenneth Anger, Yoko Ono, Mike and George Kuchar, Michael Snow, Bruce Connor, Yvonne Rainer, and Hollis Frampton.
