Stephen Borunda has won the Graduate Student Essay Prize conferred by the Media and the Environment SIG of SCMS
Stephen Borunda has won the Graduate Student Essay Prize conferred by the Media and the Environment SIG of SCMS for his essay, “A Body Downwind of the Atomic Attack at Trinity: Mediations of Atomic Coloniality in Nuevo México.” SIG co-chairs Amy Rust and Meghan McDonald write that the judges — Jennifer Peterson, Carter Soles, and Nicole Starosielski — were “duly impressed” with the work.
Stephen exults that this essay will be appearing in Media+Environment, in a stream co-edited by our Mellon Sawyer Energy Justice in Global Perspective team of Javiera Barandiarán, Mona Damluji, Stephan Miescher, David Pellow, and Janet Walker.
The award will be conferred as follows:
