Biography
David Gray is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Film Studies in the English Department at Western Washington University. He specializes in documentary, trauma and memory studies, Latin American cinema, spatial studies, and the essay film. His dissertation, completed in 2015, is entitled Placing Memory: Postdictatorial Documentaries in the Southern Cone. He has been the coordinating editor of Media Fields Journal, and co-edited, together with Jade Petermon, a special issue on “Memory, Space, and Media.” He is from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and likes to return often for green and red chile.
