Biography
Lisa Yin Han is an Assistant Professor of Film and Media Studies in the Department of English at Arizona State University. She received her PhD in Film and Media Studies at UC Santa Barbara with an emphasis in technology and society. Her research interests include new media studies, environmental media, and critical infrastructure studies. Her dissertation, Deepwater Feeds: Mediation and Extraction at the Seafloor, examines the material and semiotic remaking of the seafloor through industrial, state, and scientific productions of underwater media infrastructure. Lisa has also published work on fetal ultrasound, abortion media, and internet freedom.
