Biography
Steven Secular is a PhD Candidate in Film and Media Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research focuses on the history and globalization of the sports television industry. His dissertation charts the evolution of the National Basketball Association and its global investment in cable, satellite, and digital technologies. Steven’s work can be found in Media Industries and In Media Res and he has presented his work at conferences such the Society for Cinema and Media Studies (SCMS), the North American Society for Sport History (NASSH), and Media Fields at UC Santa Barbara.
